Sensex up by 1166 points in 2 trading session

After clearing majority of my positions when the sensex was around 17,800 It just saw a dip which I anticipated and then was hoping to get some more correction where I can pour in some money but then It was almost a rally in the next 2 trading session and the sensex is well above 18500 and Now I am thinking why did I clear my position to that extent.
