HDFC Securities Review

I personally do not have an account with HDFC Securities but one of my friend have it and they have a very bad brokerage plans which never encouraged me to open an account with them. They have a minimum brokerage amount of some 25 or so rupees and that does mean if you want to start small they may not be the right brokerage house to do so.

Apart from that my friend always used to complain about the trading margins that it does not allow me buying in margin.

If you have better experience with HDFC Securities (good or bad) share them in comments below.

  1. Hi Shabbir,
I do not like the user interface of of HDFC Securities. It is too complicated with lots of options and the menus are not user-friendly.
Doon’t know about others, but their services are good.

    Hi Shabbir

I am great follower of your blog.I use hdfc too for trading.

I think the UI( User interface) is not that user friendly.

Worst is for e.g. when you want to buy around 20 shares and only 10 shares worth 4999 are available at that time, then, the order gets executed and a brokerage amount of 25 is charged(because its < 5000).Now the remaining 10 shares too if worth < 5000 are also charged 25 rupees brokerage.Where as a whole for 20 shares you would get a .50% brokerage on whole amount which is far lesser than the above amount of brokerage.

In all i am not satisfied with HDFC.I am using it only because demat account is free for me for 1st year being a corporate offer.

HDFC is worst ever brokerage house in the world.

Porn website are better designed then this..hdfc security..

one thing i don’t understand that india sends software coolies in the world yet.. we can’t have decent without ten pop up sites to buy or sell shares..
one for price, one for chart, will give errors few times.. will log u out ever five minutes. will ask u to change password every two weeks.. F**K ME

This is a disaster.. net banking in western world are to make life easy.. but we Indians don’t have intellect to develop decent design.

Manu, Well said. One small correction. It is not just one donkey but several of them sat together to get this HDFC sec. site done. When I opened an account with them, some years back, one suited executive, (the sales/marketing donkey) told me they have trading software screens just like Indiabulls or ventura the best in the country no doubt. I could not do a single trade with them as there was no trading terminal showing multiple scrips and other details. Now I was made donkey. I closed the account promptly. No money was returned. They must be making millions just by getting more and more gulliable donkeys like me. I am happy with Indiabulls software powerbulls and there is none like it barring ventura1. May be ICICIdirect too. But then what can one say about ICICI as a brand itself? Dishonesty is the core of ICICI.
