Dear Mr. Shabbir,

Further to the chat we had just now, I got an insight of your take on the ELSS. But is it not correct to target returns in these funds ? Are there any risks associated ? I have invested a bit into Canara Robeco, Sundaram & HDFC ELSS in the last year & found them to be delivering well (of course ! So have been almost many othr funds in this upbeat market)

I am planning to invest in a few ELSS in a week or so, (obviously for TAx purposes). I shall be grateful to your advice whether I should stick to them or get into any other ELSS.

I shall be grateful to you for your advice.

Krishna, My views with tax planning is mainly tax planning. Say with 1lac I save 30k as tax. Effectively I invested 70k. Now say if I get a dividend back I virtually invest very little to get my tax savings. The details of how I do is here – http://shabbir.in/full-tax-saving-without-investing-one-lac/

Sachin, I prefer to be investing in the best fund in its category and I don’t think you have choosen the best in the business. Like DSPBR Midcap fund is the best one in midcap sector.

The other also looks OK.
